Mito

Capital, Ibaraki Prefecture (ken), Honshu, Japan, on the left bank of the Naka-gawa (Naka River). During the Heian era (794 - 1185) Mito developed around a Yoshida shrine, and its first castle was built during the Kamakura era (1192 - 1333).
